KeymasterAlbendazole 400 mg is a widely used antiparasitic medication prescribed to treat a variety of worm infections in humans. It works by inhibiting the growth and reproduction of parasites, eventually killing them and helping the body eliminate the infection. A single Albendazole 400 mg dose is commonly used for intestinal worm infections such as roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, and whipworm. In some cases, such as strongyloidiasis or tapeworm infections, doctors may recommend repeated doses over several days. Albendazole is also used in more serious conditions like neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease, where longer treatment courses are required under medical supervision. The medication is usually taken with food, preferably a fatty meal, to improve absorption. It is generally well tolerated, but some people may experience mild side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain, headache, or dizziness. In prolonged treatments, liver function monitoring may be necessary. Albendazole 400 mg is an effective and affordable treatment for parasitic infections, especially in regions where such infections are common. However, it should always be used according to a doctor’s advice to ensure proper dosage and avoid resistance or complications.
