So I’ve been driving my 2016 Toyota Prado for years now and it’s been absolutely solid, but lately I’ve noticed the battery is starting to struggle – slower cranking in the mornings, and the other day it actually took two attempts to start which has never happened before. I’ve been doing some research and keep seeing Volcan batteries mentioned as a good option for SUVs, especially for people like me who occasionally take their car off-road during the winter months. The thing is, I live near Motor City and I’m not really sure where to go for a proper Volcan battery workshop near Motor City that actually stocks genuine products and knows what they’re doing. I’ve called a few garages in the area and some of them didn’t even recognize the brand, while others said they could order it but couldn’t give me a clear timeline on when it would arrive. I’m a bit wary about just walking into any random workshop because I’ve heard stories about people getting old stock that’s been sitting on a shelf for ages, or worse, counterfeit batteries that look genuine but fail within months. I also want to make sure the installation is done properly – cleaning the terminals, securing the battery firmly, and checking that the alternator is charging correctly. I don’t mind paying a fair price for quality work, I just don’t want to get ripped off or end up with a battery that dies on me in the middle of nowhere, especially with a desert trip coming up. If anyone in the Motor City area has recently bought a Volcan battery for their 4×4 and can point me toward a trustworthy workshop, I’d really appreciate it. Also, any idea what a reasonable price range would be for a Prado? That way I’ll know if I’m being overcharged.
