I need to replace the battery in my daily driver which is a basic Corolla I use for commuting between Sharjah and Dubai, nothing fancy, no mods, no extra electronics, just a reliable car that needs a reliable battery to get me to work and back without drama. I’ve narrowed it down to either a Kays or a Solite based on what’s available and what fits my budget, both seem to be mid range options that are popular here without the premium price tag of the European brands. Been searching for opinions on Kays Car Battery in Sharjah specifically because there’s plenty of discussion about Solite on various forums but Kays is still a bit of an unknown quantity to me, some say it’s a solid underrated brand while others suggest sticking with the more established names. The price difference between the two for my battery size is about forty dirhams which isn’t massive but still worth considering if the performance is essentially identical. I’m leaning toward whichever one has the better real world heat tolerance since that’s really what kills batteries here faster than anything else, not cold cranking amps or any of the other specs that matter more in colder climates. Anyone had both brands in different cars over the years and can give a fair comparison on which one lasted longer under similar usage conditions?
